Day 5, Kansas City
Our last day in Kansas City was Independence Day. It was a pretty low key type of day.
After driving around all the time the first few days, we took some time to relax. We went to Chipotle for lunch, but until the game that was about the extent of our day.
I’m going to miss Kansas City. Since I had never been there, I was not sure what to expect. I knew I was looking forward to trying the KC bbq and checking out Kauffman Stadium for three games. Everything else prior may as well have been a coin flip.
Kansas City has its own kind of charm. It doesn’t have the glitz or glamour of a Los Angeles or New York. It’s not a big tourist destination like a Chicago or Miami. What it does have though, are some of the nicest folks you could ever meet.
No matter where we went, we ran into super friendly people. From Kauffman Stadium to the Arthur Bryant’s to the Negro Leagues museum, everyone welcomed us with open arms.
So next time you want a change of scene for a vacation, you know where to go. I promise you won’t be let down.
You are a brilliant one of a kind, Kansas City. Don’t you ever change.
